Computer Assisted Language Learning is useful within the teaching process because it gives us wonderful options in order to keep the attention of our students. From my teaching experience the combination that CALL makes between the listening skills with what each individual can see gave us a wonderful campus in which we can work. I did my teaching practice in a high school which implement the technology sources as much as they can and that opportunity provided me the key for this wonderful world of technology. CALL presents us the chance of provide to our students a class using the computer just like in the real life. As teacher I will use the Computer Assisted Language Learning in my classroom in order to provide to my students the abilities that they need for their Baccalaurate exams. Due to, I will use a program in which the student have to read from the computer some texts that will have some questions. After read each of these texts, each student has to answer these questions and the software that they will use indicate them if they provided a correctly answer or not. Nonetheless, it is very important to have stronger skills with the use of these technological tools. According to Forcier in his chapter Learning with Word Processor Tools “These programs may require an investment of time or training to take full advantage of their many features as well as continual use to maintain skill level” (p. 232) I completely agree with this reading and the YouTube video CALL Computer Assisted Language Learning because they mention that as teachers it is necessary to have some previous knowledge with the use of some programs that can help us with the teaching- learning process. To conclude, the Computer Assisted Language Learning is very important in the teaching- learning process; however, it is the Teachers responsibility to implement correctly these technological sources in order to provide a successful environment for their students.
One of the biggest benefits that this tool have it is not only the interactive part, it is also that you can focus CALL to different aspects, for example : grammar, spelling, individual, but It can also integrate all aspects to have a more global learning, CALL has also changed since the beginnings, and this also had allowed this tool to evolutionate with people needs, so it gives a more efficient and effectively way to lerarn a new language. One of the biggest advantages that I personally like of this tool it is that the difference between teacher and students are getting smaller, if we remember our school teacher, she wont propably have a laptop, a cell phone, or a video bin... intead if fou see the difference between me as a future teacher and may students that branch would not be too long. This tool has became even more popular not only because we aRE MULTITECHNOLOGICAL OR MULTITASKING GENERATION IT IS ALSO, as the author explains on page 67 CALL and Its Evaluation. The CALL field has experienced a surge of interest in CMC(...) This social activity is immenseley appealing to students and teachers alike as soon as they have enough vocabulary and structure to carrying this off.... one of the many advantages thyat can be mentioned about CALL is how easy is to work with begginers with this tool. Technology is a huge open window that teachers can use to improve their classes not only because it is effective, also because it is more interactive, helpful for students.
